St. Joseph Industrial School, Madurai, Tamilnadu was established in June, 2006. The School conducts government approved technical training Programmes / courses to the youth, mainly school dropouts, with the noble aim to impart job oriented technical skills, especially those from poor and rural households in and around Madurai. At present, three trades of one year duration are being offered. The Institute is affiliated to the Government of Tamilnadu vide its Order No.8677 / IS – 1 / 06. It is being run by the St. Joseph Educational Trust, Madurai. The students are awarded Government Certificate on successful completion of their respective trade.
St. Joseph Educational Trust for formed and duly registered in 2006 with the aim to promote technical and non-technical education. Mr. Y.A. Kulandai and Mr. V. Subbiah are the co-founders of the Trust. The founders, with the zeal to continue their decades-long teaching experience and with a noble vision to extend their service in a constructive way, started this Trust. The management of St. Joseph Industrial School vests with the Trust.
